Pictures from the Chapel and a handful from Ragtime Street Fair

Today was our final details meeting. I wanted to post a little recap, but we are getting ready to leave for work so I'll just post some pictures. Enjoy!

Hair trial pictures!

Today was my hair trial! I told Stephanie that I didn't really care a whole lot about what the back looked like, but I wanted it to look vintage-ish and unique! I also really wanted some curlies on the side, but she kind of covered it up with my hair flower because she only had small black bobby pins and she didn't like the way it looked.

Pretty unique right?

As of today, we are 25 days away! In honor of that, I blasted HelloSaferides 25 days quite a few times. I should add, there are some swear words in the song, so keep that in mind if you're at work, or if you don't like swears!

Thursday is our final details appointment. I'll let you guys know how it goes by Friday!

Less than 30 days away!

Squee! I'm so excited!

I've gotten quite a few e-mails back about our BBQ, so I figure it's pretty safe to post what they looked like. I ran out of the yellow paper for some of them, so I mailed some out on the blue paper with a cream background, but there they are. My mom has the menu pretty set and I'm going to bake a few things, I can't wait!

My next big craft is our programs. I'm just waiting on Megan to send me the finished file. I've finished all of the escort cards from the RSVP cards we have back so far. We're still waiting on about 24 RSVP's to make there way here. I know some of our friends from work were waiting on their schedules to come out before mailing them back. Speaking of schedules, I got a hold of my manager today. I told her the whole situation and she asked me to post the days on our trip trade board and if no one will work for me she will give me a personal leave. My manager is actually super nice so I'm pretty lucky!

Next week is a really busy week for me! Monday Ronnie and I are taking his car in for some scheduled maintenance so it's all ready for our honeymoon roadtrip! Tuesday is my hair trial appointment and Thursday is my final details meeting with the Henry Ford! So exciting!

This is pretty random, but as I'm sure you can guess I look at quite a few wedding blogs. I actually had to remove a few because I couldn't keep up with them if I stopped reading for a few days, but I just came across 2 posts that were so pretty that I had to share.

Guess what I started today?

We're still missing about half of our RSVP's so my mom and I haven't started the seating chart just yet, but I figure it doesn't hurt to start writing these out for people that have already mailed back yeses. There is no such thing as being over ready right?!

A funny aside about these. Ronnie is a Jr. so the Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Webb card is for his parents. When I set them out on the table to dry, Ronnie saw it and thought it was our card (since that is what we will also be after the wedding) so he wrote "I love you!" on the inside of it. He made me throw it out because he thought it was weird to have that on the inside of his parents card, but it made me think how fun it would be to put a personal note inside of everyone's cards. I highly doubt I'll have the time but I really think it's a cute idea.

UH OH!

Well, my schedule came out for next month. As you can see, they barely scheduled me any days EXCEPT for the wedding! When they put the schedules out, they attached a note saying that most people who asked for days off at the end of the month won't be getting them off because most of our flying in August is at the end of the month. I have 3 options. My first one is to try to swap with our open time. I picked 4 random trips at the beginning of the month and I asked them to drop the trip on the 20th and to work the 4 trips in the beginning of the month. My next option will be trying to drop it entirely. I didn't try this option because I'm pretty sure they will say no :D My last and final step will be going into my manager and telling her I just can't come in. I think they will take care of it for me, but they'll make me jump through these hoops anyway so I figure I better try them first.

This is my 100th post!! I wanted to post something exciting, but there isn't very much exciting going on right now! We will probably go and get our marriage license at the end of this month so I'll post about that soon.

This weeks goals

We are currently THIRTY SIX days away from our wedding. I have a lot of things to do this week so I thought I would post a little list.

  • Finalize our ceremony script and finish our processional/altar formation. I'm going to send out an e-mail as soon as I'm done writing this. We will not be having our reverend at the rehearsal, so she gave me all kind of diagrams to print out and is going to give me a little guide through e-mail on how I should take care of it. I'm hoping it won't be too hard!
  • Make a final details appointment with The Henry Ford. I can't BELIEVE it's already time to do this. I was squealing with delight when she called me in regards to this yesterday. I'm just waiting for my schedule to come out.
  • Print out table numbers, escort cards and programs. I'm not really sure how I want to put the programs together yet. I'm thinking either with a blue cover and a yellow or white ribbon or just with a regular white printing tied together with a blue ribbon. hmm.
  • Finish knitting 2 wedding projects. A pair of slippers for me and a gift for our flower girl.
  • Start the music list for the DJ. I probably won't be ambitious enough to finish this in one week.
I finished our invitations for our Rehearsal/Family BBQ yesterday. I mailed out 5 of them a few days ago to make sure I had enough postage while I was finishing up the rest of them. It sounds like they all made them there safely so I'm going to put the other ones in the mail today, after I get more stamps. The post office loves me this month. I'll post some pictures of them after everyone starts getting theirs in the mail.

Another thing I finished this week is a new white shawl for the wedding. I started knitting it after we got engaged with the intention of wearing it as a veil, but then I wasn't super crazy about it, put it in a plastic bag where it sat for months. I decided last month to finish it up and use it as a shawl because it was such a lot of work. Here are some pictures:

For fun, here is what it would have looked like as a veil.

I look like the Virgin Mary, don't you think? haha maybe not with my deep V dress.

Tuxes!

I took these pictures when Ronnie and I went with my mom to get Kevin fitted for his tux and I forgot to post them. They had our color on the mannequin! So this is what the groomsmen will be wearing. The dads will have the same type of thing but with a black vest and Ronnie’s is either white or a silver color. I honestly can’t remember. I had to laugh when we were in there because they fitted Kevin, but Ronnie never got fitted.

I made an appointment for the end of this month for my hair trial. I made it for a random Tuesday that I had off, but I might change it to some time next month if I happen to get the weekends off and actually do something so that I have a pretty hairstyle for going out instead of for sitting around the apartment reading.

I spent today finishing up invites for our rehearsal/BBQ. I need to get some more stamps before I can mail them out, but I’m pretty much so done with them. I was thinking about making some for girl’s night too, but I think it will depend on how much time I have left.

I also looked up information for our marriage license today. We can do it 33 days before the wedding so I think we will try to get that out of the way at the end of this month. We also have to put in our order for flowers, our florist told us to come back when we are a month or 3 weeks out. I have 2 more projects on the back burner to do. Escort cards. Megan designed these for us but I need to print them out and start putting people’s names on them. I will probably start this once we have more RSVPs back. My other project I’m considering is isle pomanders. I really like these and would probably make something similar if I do them.

The Invitations Post!

I have 3 e-mails that are wedding related which I should be taking care of, but instead I’m updating my blog. So goes my life. :D

I had every intention of making a post last week in regards to our invitations but I just couldn’t talk myself into doing it. While I was dragging my feet, Megan made a post about them on HER blog! Her pictures are much prettier than mine, so please do check them out. Also, she’s adding the design to her collection, and naming it after RONNIE! He’s famous!

You might remember a few posts ago where I talked about all of the things I did to our invitations. We loved the plain ivory invitations because they reminded us of an old news paper, but I wanted to add a little splash of our wedding color. Megan does make belly bands and everything you can imagine for stationary, but I had a certain budget which meant I had to get creative with items I could get at a good price at a craft store. Here are the results:

This is what our apartment looked like while I was at work.

Here is what the invitations looked like out of the box. This is the front of the RSVP envelope (there was nothing on the back), the front of the invitation, the RSVP, and the back of the invitation envelope.

The front of the invitation and the RSVP side by side.

RSVP envelope, the back of the invitation, the RSVP card and the back of the invitation envelope.

Here is everything laid out flat. RSVP, invitation back with the front next to it, RSVP envelope, the belly band, the monogram and website card and then a calligraphy envelope, and an envelope that has been lined.

Here is everything laid out with the belly band assembled. I used the belly bands because I didn't have an inner envelope. To make the belly bands, I took the leftover wrapping paper from making the envelope liners (I had to buy 2 rolls) and cut them into long strips that were about 1 and a half inches wide, and long enough to wrap around everything when it was stacked together. I did calligraphy on them the same way I did with the envelopes. I googled '2 inch square template for word' to come up with the monogram square. I typed our initials into the word template and printed out a bunch of sheets of them. I had either the same font, or one really similar to the one that Megan used so that made it match pretty well. To make the website card, I had a business card template that came with word that I used to type in the website information. Ronnie had some resume card stock that was in almost the same color as our invitations so that's what I printed everything on, and used a glue runner to glue everything down.

All put together.

Going in the envelope!

and ready to be mailed!

As you can see, I used the wedding cake/wedding rings stamps from the post office. I know some people really get matchy matchy with their stamps but to be honest that was the last thing I worried about, and after the calligraphy and invitations themselves, the stamps got the most compliments. Go figure :)

Happy Saturday!

I hope everyone is having a great kickoff to their 4th of July weekend! We sadly have to work so we went camping during the week to celebrate. Before I get into the pictures, I want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to sweet little Alexis our flower girl/niece/God Daughter! We're going to give her a call later, uncle Ronnie is still sleeping while I'm writing this :D

So, camping. We've been talking about going all spring but it has been VERY rainy here lately. We decided on a whim to go out to Pinckney this week because the weather was cooler and there wasn't going to be any rain. We honestly couldn't have picked a better day to go up there. It wasn't too hot during the afternoon, and it cooled down to the 60's at night which was perfect. There was A LOT of mosquitoes out. We usually bring Off with us, but we tried out these arm band things that didn't work at all for me. Once I started getting bit a bunch I put on jeans and a longer sweatshirt and I was fine. The other funny thing was the guy in the site next to ours. I guess he was bicycling around Michigan from somewhere in Ohio so he was by himself. He kept coming over to our site and talking to us which probably wouldn't have been too bad, except we weren't doing ANYTHING when we first got there. We sat in our chairs sunbathing and I was reading, I felt kind of bad that we weren't more amusing. The next morning when he was packing up to leave, this hippy guy came to pick him up. While they were putting things in his van the hippy was talking about how he was going to be reincarnated as a rock and how he dresses in clothes made from deer skins and makes tomahawks from rocks and joins into parades for America. Ronnie and were quietly giggling in our tent.

Les Stroud, I mean Ronnie. :D

Ronnie eating his MRE

Knitting. I DID say I wasn't that amusing :)

I'm not sure why, but I wanted Ronnie to take a picture of me jumping. This is the result.

Blackberries.

You might have to click this one to make it bigger, but yay hot air balloon!

Starting the fire.

Smores! You can't camp without them.

HAHAHA!

I wanted to make a post about our invitations now that everyone has them, but I don't want to overload this post with a million pictures. We've already got a ton of RSVP's back! I'll either post about them tonight or sometime tomorrow.
