Some quick updates

This month hasn't really had a whole lot of wedding stuff going on. We're at a point where everything that we can do is pretty much so done, so while I feel like there are things I should be doing, there just really isn't much of anything I CAN do. I think within the next 2 months all of the minor things in my 6 months post will need to be completed so I guess I'll be pretty busy then, but now I guess it's relaxing time wedding wise.

There are a few things that did happen this month though!

- First, Alexis' flower girl dress is pretty much so done:

Isn't it so cute?! It was made by a seamstress from Ronnie's moms wedding dress! I actually think it's much cuter than the David's Bridal dress and I can't wait to see how adorable little Alexis looks wearing it!

- Next, one of Ronnie's groomsmen called last night and said they weren't going to be able to make the wedding. It was Chris S. the 6th groomsman that Ronnie had asked, and he had some scheduling conflicts with work. Ronnie was a little bummed but of course we know how it goes. He's in the airline industry too. Maybe there will be a last minute miracle but for now Ronnie is back down to 5 groomsmen.

- I got an e-mail from Megan saying that I should be getting a design review for our invites soon. I'm SOOOO excited to see them!

- We got our space set for our rehearsal dinner! I mailed out our form for the 'picnic' space at Elizabeth Park in Trenton Michigan early this week. We're going to do some barbecuing in the park, and I'm going to try to bring some lawn games and fun stuff like that. There is supposed to be a movie in the park that night so I'm just hoping it won't be too crazy! Ronnie and I drove through the park a few days ago to figure out what area they had available because there isn't a map on their website. There are PLENTY of picnic tables/grills and we're right by the comfort station so there are nice clean indoor bathrooms! Yippie!

- The 14th of April is our food tasting date. I just finalized the menu for what we will be tasting today, after that is done we will have a concrete menu. Also I'll finally get to meet our planner who I've been talking with and exchanging email with lately (She's the lady that I said was super nice if you recall that blog from awhile ago) so it will be nice to put a face with the name/voice.

- My first dress fitting is April 21st, I haven't been working out as much this month because of my schedule so I hope I don't have to squeeze into it!

I guess that's it for now. Hopefully my next post will have more pictures, and less text! I hope everyone has a great Easter!

Sorry for the lull in posting lately. I've been away for work and I haven't been taking my computer with me. Have I mentioned how glad I am to be going back to midnights next month?

Working 13 hours a day hasn't been very conducive to working out. I did run a few days when I had longish layovers, but to be honest I haven't even measured myself this month since I haven't been very active. The good news is, I had to order new work uniforms this month and I ordered them in a size 2! To be honest, I think the company that makes our uniforms makes them the opposite way of whatever bridal shops use because there is no way I'm actually a size 2, but it is a size down from the uniforms I wore last year so I'm counting it as a small success.

Yesterday Sarah, Amy and I finally had a few hours off together so we made our way up to David's Bridal to look at dresses. We looked at 2 dresses while we were there.

The first dress was the one that I originally picked, but the second one just came out for this summer. They look similar enough that I thought maybe we could get away with using both, but both Sarah and Amy looked awesome in the first dress so it worked out great!

We got a surprise pre-wedding gift in the mail from Auntie Sandy. Really giant (and awesome) margarita glasses! I was working when they came in the mail, so Ronnie took this picture and sent it to me. We really got a kick out of them, and what's even better, I only need to fill the glass once before getting tipsy. Thank you Aunt Sandy, we love them!

I have a few small things left to do this month. My alterations appointment is on the 22nd, but I'm going to try to reschedule it to one of my moms days off because I really don't want to go alone. My schedule came out on the 16th so there are a few days where my mom, Ronnie and I are off so we can make a tasting and planning meeting with the Henry Ford and lastly this weekend we are going to try to get some planning done for our rehearsal dinner.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I'm going to attempt to enjoy it before the weather gets cold here again!

Progress Post

As promised here is some pictures of the veil my mumsie made me. She also made me a plain white one, but both her and Kay liked this one the best so we didn't even take pictures of the other one. It's quite heavy, so I'm only going to wear it for the ceremony, but it's very pretty don't you think?

I know I did a post a while ago about how I was thinking about wearing my hair, but it's probably the number one question I get when I talk about the wedding. Probably because my hair is so long :) These pictures are probably what I will take with me when I go for my hair trial:
(I saved these pictures from the livejournal community weddingplans, however I forgot to save the persons user name!)

In other progress, our cake baker is booked! We went with Lakes Cakes! We both wanted something pretty classic looking, so here is what we have planned so far:

The bottom 3 layers will look like this without the ribbon:

The top layer (the one that we take home for our first anniversary) we planned to look like this but in white with Ws on it:

I made an appointment for the 22nd of this month for dress alterations. My mom and I went shopping around because I was considering getting a long line strapless bra, but in the end I just wound up buying some bra inserts to have the seamstress sew into my dress. I think that is going to be the most comfy route.

Ronnie booked our hotel room for our stay at the Walt Disney World before our cruise. We are going to stay off property this time since we are going to drive down there and won't need the buses. Also since we are pass holders now we don't have to pay for parking, yay! We booked a breakfast at the Crystal Palace, and lunch at Le Cellier so far and we are thinking about having dinner inside of the castle one night while we are there.

Lastly, I got this fun little video in an e-mail from the Henry Ford. They don't have any pictures in it from the place where we are having our reception, but it was pretty fun to look at the chapel:

The jewelry search is over!

Life has been pretty busy this last week. I think I mentioned in one of my last posts that my schedule changed from working midnights to going back to working during the day. I was really getting used to having the easier schedule and I can't say I'm really enjoying working 13 hours a day again, but I sure will enjoy the paycheck when it comes.

Disney on Ice was on the 27th. I brought my camera, but as we were driving there I was looking up on the internet if I could bring it in. The website said small unprofessional cameras were okay as long as the lenses weren't extendable. We were running a little late when we got there, so I left my camera in the car because it's not exactly the smallest thing in the world I was afraid they wouldn't let me bring it in. As it turns out they didn't really check anyones cameras out so I was pretty bummed that I didn't bring it in. We had really great seats, but the iPhone didn't really take the best pictures in the world. I tried to take a picture of Jack to send to Sarah, but as you can see, it didn't really come out:

The show was really great and we had a really nice time so we would probably do it again if we had the chance.

In jewelry news, Ronnie had to take his car in for some kind of warranty thing and the Volkswagen dealership near us is no longer a Volkswagen so we drove out to the dealership in Ann Arbor so we could have lunch out there. We stopped in Briarwood to browse around and we found my jewelry! My birthday isn't until April, but Ronnie bought it for me as a birthday present.

Here is my pictures of the bracelet and earrings:
and the stock photos (The stock photo of the bracelet is kind of scary... ):Honestly I'm not very sure about the earrings. Ronnie loved them, and the lady in the store was going gaga about how beautiful I looked with them on and so I let her talk me into them when I originally wanted studs. I still have a few days to return them, so I might take them back and get a plainer pair. My mom and auntie Kay are coming over today to get a look at my dress and veil so it will nice to get an opinion of how everything looks together.

Speaking of veils, my mom made me TWO new ones! I posted a while ago about how I ordered one from etsy. When it came, it looked great with my dress except it was just TOO ivory. I guess a veil is something I really shouldn't have ordered online, because colors are just too hard to match without seeing them in person. I brought it to my mom and then her and I went to Joann's to get some whiter tulle. While we were there she found some really beautiful lace, so she made me a plain one, and beaded lacy one. I'll try to get her to take some pictures today when she comes over later to post because she really did a great job, and then everyone can see where my crafting genes came from.

Ronnie Sr. sent me a review of our ceremony recently. He did an absolutely beautiful job, I can't wait for everyone to hear it! The only thing left to do for it is our vows. I'm not sure if Ronnie (Jr.) wants to write ours or not, he did write a speech for the reception but he won't let me read it! One more thing down!

I know there was a few other things I wanted to post about, but I think this has been a long enough post! I'll try to update some more tomorrow or later in the week!
