Ronnie and I had our first official meeting for something wedding related on the 22nd. We met with one of the ladies with The Little Wedding Chapel in Taylor at Heritage Park. When my older brother got married we actually drove here from his church to have pictures. I had never seen the inside before so I was really looking forward to the meeting.

The good:
The inside was really cute, and I loved the stained glass windows. The price (which was really good!) included a minister, a coordinator, a pianist and the flowers that were already in there. She said also we could bring in our own decorations if we wanted to. And of course Heritage Park is gorgeous, we wouldn't have any need to go anywhere else for pictures.

The bad:
The website says that the chapel can accommodate 140 people but I think that's being a bit of a stretch. We're expecting about 85 to 100 guests and even that looked like it might be a little bit tight. The rooms for getting ready were very, very, very small. I think 3 people at the most would fit in there. My wedding party will probably be pretty small but there is just no way getting ready would happen in that room. This was probably my biggest turn off about the place. I thought about maybe getting a hotel room wherever we had the reception and getting ready in there but I wasn't too crazy about that idea either. The last thing that bugged me was that the lady who came to show us the place was about 45 minutes late. Our appointment was at 4 and she called me at 3:56 to tell me she was going to be about 20 minutes late because their office was having the roof done. When she did get there she was very nice and informative, but she had another couple there with her and she seemed a little preoccupied with them since they were going to put down a deposit.

Needless to say when I left there I was a little disappointed. I honestly thought we would probably put down our deposit and have one less thing to worry about. It's still an option I guess, but I'd really like to find something else at this point. We have a meeting with someone at Greenfield Village on Saturday so keep your fingers crossed that everything will go okay there.

The other thing I've been working on is finding a photographer. I have to be honest, I had a bit of sticker shock when I saw how much photographers costs. I think Ronnie seriously had a coronary when I told him how much the one I had been researching charged. I was really thinking I would pay the costs and get over it, but most of the ones I really like don't give you copyrights to the images they shoot so you can't print anything out for family members. I spent sometime on craigslist last night looking at photographers with ads there and I found one that charges about $850 and give you the copyrights since they are trying to get a bigger portfolio.
