Working out and other news

First things first. I cut off all of my hair last week.

I know most people grow theirs out before getting married, but I just couldn't take it anymore. I couldn't wear it down EVER without having a ton of knots. It will probably grow another 2 inches before the wedding, but I can't begin to mention how much I love it.

Wedding business has been pretty slow around here lately. I went to my first dress fitting last week, and it went pretty well. I go back early next month. I'd like to try to get a picture of the bustle she did for me, because it's really unusual and I think it looks really cool!

I've been attempting to speed up my workout regime lately. I BARELY worked out in April, and I gained 3 pounds. The weather has been pretty great lately here in Michigan, so I've starting to run outside. I know it sound cheesy, but running outside has made a HUGE difference in my workouts. I'm really starting to love running. I can't remember if I've ever mentioned it on here, but my mom has a nice little gym in her basement. A treadmill, trampoline, bike, weights, jump ropes etc, but the problem was I was working out while staring at the clock. I love the scenery outside while running, plus since it's still pretty cool I haven't been dripping sweat!

I did find 2 things for my iPhone that have really been awesome that I thought I would share:

Couch to 5k : This is a podcast you can get for free at the link I posted or on iTunes. I'm obviously doing week 2 this week :D It tells you when to run, and when to walk. Eventually it will train you to do 3 miles in 30 minutes. Also it plays music in the background so you don't have to worry about making a playlist. It's been great so far, but tough!

RunKeeper: Okay, this one cost me 10 bucks, but it is also GREAT! Not only does use GPS to give you a map of where you've run, but it keeps track of your times and pace of each workout. I think my favorite thing about it though, is it will give you an audio update of your progress while running. So while I'm listening to my couch to 5k, I don't have to stop and get any idea of my progress, every 5 minutes it lets me know! If you have a phone that is able to use this app, I can't recommend this enough!

  2. I stayed strong and only had a trim and bangs cut. So my hair is just a little shorter than yours right now. I love your hair so much more now but I will miss Yellow pochahantos. Are you growing out your bangs and how did ginger react?

  3. @jessica Thank you! I'm trying to grow them out, but they are at a very annoying stage right now! They seem to keep falling right in my eye! If you try out the podcast, let me know how you like it! I really love it, I'm going to try to burn a copy for my mom to try out too.

@Sarah I meant to ask you how the haircut went yesterday and I forgot. Haha I will miss being called yellow Pocahontas, but I for sure won't miss the scary mess it turns into when it's wet after being braided! At first Ronnie was kind of like "...I like it..." but now every day he's like "I LOVE IT! YOU WEAR IT DOWN EVERY DAY! YOU SHOULD KEEP IT SHORT" haha I'm attempting to grow my bangs out, but they have been the biggest struggle for me!

I literally thought I would pass out! hahahaha Then.... to make matters worse... I started ok, ran the first lap and THEN that guy tricked me!! LOL He said READY...... and never said GO. I was like HUH!!! Before you know it... he was cooling down again for the 3rd run. So I started over. Tricky Tricky... LOL Thanks though.... music was good to run to.
